VALYRAKI OT HOLD TWO SHOWS DURING F1 EVENTS

   
In cooperation with the General Organisation for Youth and Sports (GOYS) and Formula One Racing, the United States Sports Academy is assisting in the organisation of two sport art shows featuring works of Mina Papatheodorou-Valyraki.

Valyraki, the official artist for Ferrari, will display her works during the week of the Grand Prix in Bahrain. The first of her two Formula One Racing exhibitions will be held on March 30 starting at 7pm at the Art Centre next to Bahrain National Museum. Valyraki will also have her paintings on display during the qualifying and race day at the Grand Prix on April 1-3. This auxiliary show will be held at the Sakhir Tower, the eight-storey VIP section of the Bahrain International Circuit.

Widely considered one of the best sport artists in the world, Valyraki has been painting exotic sports cars for more than 25 years. In 2002, the academy honoured her as its ‘Sports Artist of the Year’ for her exceptional talent and contributions to the growing genre of sports art.

The world-class racing facility in Bahrain, constructed in 2004, is one of the finest for the Formula One series and ‘Home of Motorsports in the Middle East.’

With the help of the academy and its constituents, another Formula One art show is planned in Shanghai, China on October 16 next year as part of the Grand Prix of Shanghai.

A TOP sports artist is to hold a Formula One racing exhibition in Bahrain, starting tonight. Official artist for Ferrari, Mina Papatheodorou-Valyrki, will have her works on display at the Art Centre, next to Bahrain National Museum.

Capital Governor Shaikh Humood bin Abdulla Al Khalifa will open her exhibition at 7 pm tonight. "We are proud to host an exhibition by one of the best sport artists in the world," said Shaikh Humood.

Ms Valyraki, from Greece, has been painting exotic sports cars for more than 25 years.

"The four-day exhibition will help us further promote the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix internationally," said Shaikh Humood. The centre is open from 8am to 1pm and 4pm to 8pm each day. Ms Valyraki's paintings will also be on display during at the Bahraini International Circuit (BIC) during the Grand Prix, from Friday until Sunday.

An auxiliary show will be set up in the Sakhir Tower, the eight-storey VIP section of BIC, during the racing event.

"I am proud to display my work in Bahrain which has constructed a world-clas racing facility," said Ms Valyraki. "The Bahrain event is one of the finest on the Formula One racing series. The event has made Bahrain the home of motor sports in the Middle East."
